Our Review Cervin is of course best known for its superb range of stockings but however much some of us may love suspenders for others they are just too much fuss... and for them Cervin makes a small number of hold ups styles, of which this is one. This is not just one of their classic stockings with some silicone bands added to the welt either, although borrowing from the styling of some of the bicolore stockings the yarn is entirely different in that it has 15% Lycra. In place of the welt of the traditional stockings there is a heavy 6cm deep elastic top to these hold ups and that carries two deeper than average silicone bands to grip the leg. In other ways these are pure classic stockings. Reinforced heel and toe, a reciprocated point heel and a genuine three thread seam up the back. Being a bicolore style the seam, heel and reinforced parts of the foot are in a contrast colour, in the case of our sample red details on a black ground. An alternative of a chocolate seam on a natural tan ground is available. The look on the leg is pure class. Perfect even colour, great colour density for a sheer stocking and the seam is just a joy, straight as an arrow, fine and really eye-catching. No complaints about sizing, there is plenty of stretch and the really effective hold up top will ensure that whatever stretch you put in stays there as long as you want it. 5 sizes are available to fit up to a lofty 5’11” (180 cm). Foot sizing is in proportion to the leg length too so taller girls with bigger feet will still find the heel sits correctly. Not hosiery for the faint hearted but the way to get that classic stockings look without the need for a suspender belt. Sexy style and convenience combined. 19 October 2011
