Our Review
With the exception of Cette Cristal Stockings Cette name their styles after major cities, it seems fitting in a way that Praha (Czech for Prague) is in the fun collection. Students of history may think Cette missed a trick using the name for 60 denier hold ups when a Spring style may have been more apt.
(If that left you scratching your head then look up Prague 1968... aka the Prague Spring)
So 60 denier hold ups with a pattern, available in 3 sizes which we are pleased to say are defined in terms of shoe size, height and weight with not a mention of irrelevant hip sizing. S sizes, but only one colour, black.
Just why Cette included shoe size in the sizing becomes a mystery when you see that these hold ups are made with entirely straight legs so the foot size is relevant only in that a longer foot will reduce how far up the leg the welt sits.
The cut out wave pattern runs from the plain reinforced toe to the narrow sub-welt, above the sub-welt is a plain elastic welt some 5 cm deep with two silicone bands to grip your leg.
You almost wonder what you are paying £16.50 for, then you put them on and you see they are top quality 60 denier microfibre and the zigzag detail made with more open knitting is as clear and crisp as you could wish. The hold up top grips well and gives complete confidence.
After our comments about the sizing idiosyncrasies we have to say that the sizing is accurate, perhaps a little generous. Certainly the large size will cope with a long athletic leg and an above average foot and still allow the hold up top to sit at the top of the thigh.
Not only fun, but very classy too.
