Our Review Some stockings have the kitchen sink thrown at them in terms of detailing, other like these are best described as simple. A straight leg with a reinforced toe at one end and a plain welt at the other, nothing reinforced, no shaping and no Lycra. No Lycra does not mean to stretch which is just as well as these stockings arrive looking like a slightly oversize knee high. There are 3 sizes to choose from intended to fit from 4’9” to 5’11”, interestingly in the “Euro” part of the chart they include shoe size as a factor as well as height and weight, but not in the UK/USA size chart. Simple yes, ordinary no. The plain matt welt take a suspender clasp perfectly, the reinforced toe is small and discrete and the expanse of sheer nylon in-between simply gleams. 100% nylon hosiery can manage to be both smooth and hard to the touch while maintaining a texture that causes it to swish when your legs rub together. You seldom get such a great look and feel for so little money. Fit is really good, particularly under the tension of a good suspender belt, colour density is excellent and even too. For us Cette are ticking all the boxes, accurate sizing, good comfort, durability, sensible price and stockings that are both practical and sexy. 7 September 2011 |
