Charnos Backseam Net Hold Ups

Our Review

We had a large delivery of suspender belts this week so following our usual logic we are reviewing hold ups today.

Before we get to the stockings there is an issue with the packaging.  The rear of the packet carries size charts for both tights and hold ups and details combinations of heights and weights for hold ups in 3 sizes small, medium, and large. Leaving aside the fact that many heavier ladies have slender legs where does the size small/medium fit in?  One would guess to heights somewhere between 5’4” and 5’9” but with what weights?  Frankly a little lazy of Charnos.

The pattern you can see through the packet is the “backseam”, you can see it for yourself so we won’t try to describe it other than to say it may be at the back but it is not a seam?

Aside from the pattern up the back of the leg these are standard fishnets with a small opaque toe.  We imagine the toe end is supposed to be seamed but on one of our two stockings it wasn’t fully close.  At the top end is a 6 cm deep voile welt with two silicone bands to grip your leg.

Sizing you can pretty well ignore.  Fishnet with 17% Lycra just stretches and stretches so leg length is not an issue; and if you have trouble with hold ups digging into your thighs generally then these will be no better than any others.   The hold up top was far too light and we found it to be very prone to rolling.

The one positive is that the rear pattern is effective and really very attractive.  Such a pity that a nice design idea has been so poorly executed.
