Cleopatra Capri Pantygirdle

Our Review

There were a few raised eyebrows when we saw there was a panty girdle to be reviewed, memories on monstrous garments worn by our ancestors seemed to be the common reaction.   But thinking logically there could be something in what is after all a combination of suspender belt and knickers into a single garment with an element of shaping added in.   We are regularly asked whether pants should go under or over suspender straps and with a panty girdle the question simply disappears.

This particular girdle is non boned in anyway it simply uses high denier fibre with 80% Nylon and 20% Lycra/Spandex to provide stretch and control.  The rear panels are lain, single thickness and sheer, over the hips there are double thickness panels and over the tummy it is double thickness again with lace decoration.

There are six non adjustable, non removable suspender straps to attach your stockings to.

The crotch fastening has three positions and uses three hooks and eyes, the fastening is backed with a soft lining.

The whole garment is manufactured to a high standard with flat seams throughout for comfort and a smooth silhouette.

There are two colours to choose from, bronze as pictured above and black. There are three sizes define as: small (22"-26"), medium (27"-31"), large (32"-38").  We have taken this to be a waist size and on this basis the sizing is spot on, the large size fit a 38” waist without being overly tight.

Despite the waistband being stretched 10” (25cm) to fit there was no impression of squeezing, a feel more like a swimming costume or Spanx pants than those heavy girdles of old.

The crotch fastening proved to be very easy to open and close.

In case you too wondered about the “correct” way to wear panties and a suspender belt together is the answer is that there is no one answer.  It depends on the shape of the belt and the cut of the panties, our rule is that the panties should never cross the suspender straps and that normally means panties under the suspenders. This of course raises awkward bathroom questions to which again there is no one single correct answer.
