Our Review Clio is an interesting brand as they combine classic French style with a very Italian stretch fibre combination of 85/15 Nylon/Lycra. Most of their styles they make in both a hold up and a classic stocking. This lace top hold up comes in a range of 5 sizes, covering weights from 47-101kg (105-227lbs).The height part of the size chart is not overly helpful suggesting all sizes bar the smallest will fit all heights from up to 5’1” to over 5’9”. Colour is not something that we comment much on with hosiery but a pure white option means that this lace top hold up is very much in the running for consideration as wedding hosiery. A fully fitted reinforced heel and toe sets this style apart from regular stretch hold ups, together with the lace top they create a great impression. The stretch ensures that the heel sits correctly pretty well regardless of your foot size, neatly avoiding a problem with some non-stretch stockings where larger sizes can come up short in the foot. Again thanks to the stretch from the Lycra fit is excellent and the full range of sizes is easily accommodated. Size 4 that we tested will fit to well over 5’9”, easily coping with a leggy 6’0”. The two wide silicone bands ensure that once in place these stockings stay put. There is a lovely pearlescent sheen to the finish that really draws the eye. The only negative comment we have is that the finish is nothing like as smooth to the touch as it appears to the eye. Good value at £11.75, and ideal wedding hosiery. 25 November 2011
