For many stockings fans the only real stockings are those made of 100% Nylon from before the age of Lycra, but before there was Nylon there was Silk, and these stockings are 100% silk.
There are 4 colours to choose from: white, ivory, gazelle and black, Stacy is modelling the gazelle for us.
There are 5 sizes the largest of which is designed for heights up to 5’11” (180cm) and weights up to 190lbs (85kg).
If you are used to nylon hosiery then you are immediately struck by how light and delicate these 20 denier stockings feel. There really is very little weight in them, but there is strength in abundance.
Detailing is quite simple, there is a large reinforced toe, a large knitted in reinforced heel detail and a plain welt.
There is only a very small amount of stretch so you need to make sure that you buy the correct size. The fit is all you would expect of non stretch hosiery, bend your knees or ankles and you will be left with creases, even with the very best of suspenders you will be constantly smoothing and straightening. And of course this is the point of what are unashamedly “old fashioned” stockings.
Lovely to look at gorgeous to touch this is vintage class from a bygone era of luxury. Simply styled, beautifully made and full of character.
