Our Review The packet notes tell us all about silk, nothing about the stockings. Having read about silk you would have to feel that the move from silk to nylon was a retrograde step... until that is you look at the price of these stockings. The most expensive hosiery we have reviewed to date. The first thing you notice when opening the packet is the deep intricate lace tops to these stockings. The second thing is the gossamer fine appearance. In the hand the feel has something nylon could never replicate, soft, smooth yet with obvious strength. The heels are properly shaped and reinforced, the legs fully shaped and the toes reinforced. The feel on the leg is gorgeous, exceptionally smooth and soft. The finish is perfectly even. Fit is something you need to take great care with, there is little or no stretch with 100% silk. Look carefully at the sizing chart. Size 4, as we tested is suitable for up to 5’11”. Our model has a 34” leg and the bottom of the very deep lace top was only just over her knees. The top of the stockings were some 6 inches short of the top of her leg.
