Our Review When out sister site TightsFashion reviewed the Falke Diamond 10 tights they rated them very highly so we were pleased to see the stockings arrive for review. The good impressions continued when we saw that the size chart was one specifically for stockings and not one based on hip measurement and intended for tights. There are three sizes which are defined in terms of shoe size, height and weight. Our only concern was that the maximum UK she size of 8 could cause an issue for some taller ladies. Deliciously soft we can see why the tights were a hit. Entirely sheer from the perfect toe seam all the way to the welt with just a hint of shaping at the heel the quality of these stockings is obvious. The welt carries vertical stripes each just under 1cm wide, a detail to add interest should you happen to show your stocking tops... otherwise these are stockings that ooze German practicality. We need not have worried about the shoe sizing, the heel shaping is so slight that it is lost in the stretch of the material if your feet are bigger than the sizes suggested, there is also plenty of length. Stretching the stockings to put them on we noticed that the toe is a finer knit to give strength... but once on your foot it is very hard indeed to see where the toe starts, the ideal sandal toe. The heavy welt does make attaching a suspender clasp a little harder than it is with lighter welts but once fastened you can be confident your suspender will remain fastened all day, and you can be sure that the welt will stay intact for the lifetime of the sheer legs. The key is a quality suspender best with metal clasps such as the SHQ Classic Suspense: 8 Strap Plain Front Suspender Belt Perfect cosmetic finish on the leg and a second skin fit thanks to the 20% Lycra in the fibre. Not the cheapest of stockings but 10 denier sheers designed to survive daily wear and tear will never be cheap. 2 August 2011 |
