Our Review
Seidenglatt translates from German as silky smooth and we know both from our early review of Falke Seidenglatt 15 Stockings and the long love affair that out sister site TightsFashion has had with Falke Seidenglatt Tights that the name is 100% accurate.
This is one of two styles of Seidenglatt 15 hold-ups from Falke, the difference being in the lace top.
Full marks to Falke for not simply recycling the tights size chart on their hold ups, but if you are used to their tights sizing please note that the sizing only goes from I to III.
If you likes sparkle you will love these hold ups the minute you open the packet, they really shine. But there is not just shine, there is real quality too. There is the lightest of reinforced toes made with a beautifully formed seam and incorporating a run stop to prevent holes in the toe becoming a ladder in the leg. The legs are shaped at the heel to aid fit.
Such is the quality of the material that the lace top is stitched directly to it. In this version of the Seidenglatt hold up the lace top is 3” or 7.5 cm deep and features two silicone bands at the to to give a secure hold on your leg.
Falke have never let us down in terms of sizing and there is no exception here. The sizing is on the generous side of accurate and then there is just masses of stretch, even the tallest of ladies could wear the largest size with the lace right at the top of her thighs if she wished. Fit is excellent too.
The look on the leg is shiny and very flattering. The reinforced toe is hardly visible so you could wear with open toe shoes if you wish, but these are not “bare leg look” stockings, nobody has legs this shiny.
We managed not to use the words “smooth” or “silky” in our review but they are two words that best describe these stockings.
If there are better sheer and shiny hold ups then we have yet to see them.
