How to Put Stockings On
OK, so you read a review, visited our shop and the Postman brought you a box of goodies to try on. So how do you get the best out of them.
Before you even open the first packet make sure that you have no dry rough skin on your hands and feet, and no rough nails. If you can’t get your hands smooth then wear fine cotton gloves to put on your new stockings.
Hold-ups are pretty self explanatory, just give them a gentle stretch, bunch them up so you can put your toe into the end of the foot and slowly smooth and stretch them up your legs until the support band is where you want it. Don’t pull!
The Suspender Belt
If you are going to wear stockings with suspenders be sure that you have a good quality belt of the correct size, with adjustable metal clips. Before putting it on make sure all the clips are open and the straps are at their maximum length with the adjustment sliders free.
If the best has a rear fastening make life easier for yourself by fastening the belt at the front and then twist it round before putting on your stockings.
Now you can put the stockings on just like hold ups; you can do the first bit sitting down. Remain seated until you have attached the first clip at the front. Then you need to stand up to attach the rest of the clips, making sure that they run straight and the stockings are not twisted. If you are wearing seamed stockings they will look best if one strap is fixed at the top of the seam.
Now you can start to shorten the straps, smoothing the stockings up your leg as required until the stocking tops are even.
Everything should then stay in place, keeping you comfortable and confident until it is time to take them off again.
