Jonathan Aston Seamed Fishnet Hold-Up

Jonathan Aston Fishnet Hold-Up with Lace Top and Back Seam

The packet only has notes that describe the history and ethos of Jonathan Aston.

In common with most of their other hosiery there is both a size chart and a strap line “One Size Fits Most”. To be clear about these hold up stockings they are sized, but not A, B or C as per the size chart but B/C.

Our Review

jonathan_aston_fishnet_lt_bs_huThese seamed fishnets are made only in black, but you can choose to have the seam detailing in red, silver or black.

As you can see in the picture the seam adds striking twist to the classic fishnet. The seam runs from under the instep to the bottom of the welt and is a nice quality raised seam machined on to the finished stocking. The stockings are knitted as a tube and finished with a straight toe seam.

The welt is a pretty lace design and has two silicone bands to hold the stocking in place. Great care has been taken to align the flat seam in the welt with the leg seam.

Length does not look overly generous at first but the fishnet construction and 10% Lycra in the fibre mean there is simply masses of stretch.  The welt holds well and keeps the stocking wherever on your thighs you choose.

We were very pleased to see that the seam sat straight and true up the back of the leg as soon as we put them on.

These are the best seamed fishnet stockings we have seen.. OK so they are the only ones.. nicely designed, well made and ever so stylish.  We would love to have seen a pair with a contrast seam but the black on black is great, you may want to be more daring.

Full marks for the stockings but we do wish Jonathan Aston would do something with their packaging. Is it too much to ask that there is a picture, a description and a size chart for what is inside? These are £7.50 stockings not 75p stockings!

Packet design aside you should get some of these for the Autumn/Winter party season.
