Our Review On National Stockings Day we though we would take on a little gamble and see if we could review hold ups rather than classic stockings with suspenders just once without upsetting the purists. It was always on the cards that this particular style would draw our eye and suit our purpose. So are they Ace? Made in Italy in two sizes we are hopeful that these are up to the standard of the rest of the “On Show” collection which we have looked at on TightsFashion, some of the best hosiery we have ever seen from Jonathan Aston First impressions are very good, there is a heavy, shiny satin look look hold up top around 6cm deep with two wide silicone bands to grip the leg... stay up we can be sure they will do. The legs are unshaped and the pattern runs from the toe seam all the way to the top of the stocking where it aligns perfectly with the flat seam in the welt; nice attention to detail. Fit is excellent and the stretch means that the wide range that the two sizes are intended to cope with (heights of 4’9” to 6’0”, 145-183cm) is achieved. Quite why hip size is mentioned on the size chart is a mystery... tights anybody? The playing card motif is well defined and runs nicely up the back of the leg with no fuss. If we were to be picky the hearts motif could be better but that is all we have to complain about. Colour is perfectly even throughout. The quality, design and the sandal toe all combine to make these stockings as well suited to a smart night out with strappy heels and a killer black dress as to a party or even a bit of fun shopping.
