Our Review First impressions are very important and we must confess that with this pair of hold ups there simply weren’t any, so what did a more objective look tell us? Our size III sample looked ever so short but at once we could feel how much stretch there was available in every direction, the material feels strong but the initial softness disappears when stretched. The legs are a straight tube finished with a reinforced toe, the welt is 6cm deep and carries a lace pattern although this is a little lost on a dark background. Two silicone bands are provided at the top of the welt to grip the leg. Sometimes when hosiery stretches the stretch becomes semi-permanent perhaps not going away until you wash it, that is not the case here. The stretch is constantly trying to shrink back meaning you get a fantastic fit, it also means the silicone bands really have to grip to keep the stocking up... and they do. On the leg the texture changes again, fully stretched the surface feels smooth but there is just enough texture to swish when you cross your legs. Colour is perfectly even and the look on the leg that our black sample provided was ever so classy. All that stretch makes it hard to quantify sizing but if you follow the size chart you will find a perfect fit with some flexibility on where you wear the top of the stocking. Equally suited to a smart night out or everyday wear in the office or around the shops these hold-ups are a must for lovers of this style of hosiery.
