Our Review

The tights in the new Absolute Legs range from Pretty Polly all had some very distinctive design features so it came as a bit of a surprise when taking these hold ups from the packet that they have no quirks at all.  What we have is a sheer leg with a small reinforced toe, shaped but not reinforced heel and a very pretty lace top. The lace on our test pair was the same as that on the picture above but the small print on the packet rear says “Lace design may vary”.

The lace top carries a single wide silicone band to grip the leg and make sure these stockings hold up.

There are just two sizes, s/m for heights 5’0” to 5’4” and m/l for 5’4” to 5’8”.  We must say that although the majority of women fall into the 5’0” to 5’8” height range this is a little limiting.

Thankfully the Lycra provides for plenty of stretch so if you are taller than the suggested sizing then you will at least have the stocking top on your upper thigh.  The only downside of relying so much on stretch is that it makes the hold up work very hard.

The legs have a nice smooth finish and perfectly even colour with a matt finish. 

We found it hard to enthuse about paying £6 for a pair of hold ups where the only thing bringing them above basic everyday stockings is a lace top that may turn out to be different.  

Our reviewer was not a regular wearer of hold ups but they did say that they constantly felt as though they were moving down her leg.  The design of the lace top was such that a suspender belt for added confidence was not an option.

Nice enough hold ups that rather blend in with the crowd.
