Our Review Whether you wear stockings or hold ups it just has to be the ultra sheer look this season. Our sister site at TightsFashion has had some great summer tights but we will not be outdone, here is the summer hold up style from Pretty Polly There are just two colours to choose from, “barely there” and a darker “slightly sunkissed” as well as just two sizes, small/medium and medium/large. The sizes are differentiated by height with Pretty Polly suggesting the smaller size for up to 5’4” and the larger for 5’4” to 5’8”. Not overly generous sizing on the face of it. What a contrast between leg and welt. The legs are ultra sheer and light, straight with a sheer sandal toe, the hold up top is really quite heavy even though only 6cm (2.5”) deep. Most of the back of the hold up top is covered with a single wide silicone band to grip your leg. Given the suggested sizing the short look of the legs is a bit of a worry... of course just how long in the leg can a woman of 5’8” be? Well no need to worry, you would need to be a very leggy 6’0” to find these stockings coming up short, they are ever so stretchy. The fit is like a second skin and if you pick the correct shade for your skin tone then it would need very close inspection to tell whether you are wearing hosiery or just have great skin. Smooth and soft to the touch too. The hold up top holds the leg well and the grip is strong yet gentle. Great hold ups at a very sensible price, the only improvement we would like to see is perhaps a couple more shades just in case we get a tan over the summer.
