70 denier compression hold ups. Not our usual review material and in fact something we have never looked at before. As you can see from our own photograph of these stockings though there is no visual clue as to what they are... and that is the point of what Solidea do; medical grade compression hosiery that looks like fashion hosiery. From our past experience with Solidea hosiery on our sister site TightsFashion we were expecting great quality and we got it. From the cleverly reinforced toe to the lace top these fine tulle stockings are a delight. Finer even than a micronet and looking more sheer than their 70 denier the strength of these stockings is amazing. Preparing to put them on the graduated compression is very noticeable. At the top of the leg they feel like any other quality hold up stocking but as you approach the ankle they give less and less. The technique for putting on compression stockings involves patience and preparation. The card has full instructions so don’t worry!. The only tip we would add is that if they come up short or twisted roll them back to the ankle and start again. With good technique they are as easy as any other hold ups. As soon as you have them on you feel the compression working and your legs really do feel lighter, younger even. The compression also has a real slimming effect at the ankle. You never feel that these stockings will move once in place but the pretty lace top includes two silicone bands for added confidence. If you spend a lot of time sitting or standing each day, or if you are flying, suffer from circulatory problems or have suffered with DVT Solidea hold ups will really help you feel better and stay healthier.
