Our Review There is always a bit of a fight here when there are Trasparenze tights or stockings to review, they seem to combine great design, quality manufacture and a sheer look and feel like no other maker. We had hoped to see these hold ups in natural with the contrast black seam but our review sample arrived in black. Our disappointment was very short lived however, as out fingers enjoyed the smooth softness of the legs our eyes clocked that the detailing was all in pale grey... stunning! Gorgeous detailing. The lightest of reinforced toes, so close to the leg weight as to be almost indistinguishable, legs boarded to shape the heel, a lace pattern under the foot and around the heel ending in a pointed transition to a seam. At the top of the leg the seam meets more lace design before the transition to the stocking top. The 8cm deep black stocking top carries a trellis pattern behind which are two silicone bands to grip the leg. The whole is topped off with more black lace. Trasparenze make these stockings in just two sizes 1/2 and 3/4 which was a concern having long legs, but there was no need to worry as the size 3/4 size easily stretched to fit a 34” leg. The hold up top grips well and we never felt that there was a risk of the stockings slipping down. Sizing and fit are both first rate. Whether you choose black with grey details or natural with black highlights you get a look guaranteed to stop traffic. One small problem, not typical of Trasparenze, is that our test pair had a small knitting fault in one leg. Despite this we have no hesitation in strongly recommending these hold ups. 21 March 2011 |
