Our Review
A 10 denier hold up is ideal for the warm weather we are currently enjoying here in the UK. A tan sheer is great for everyday wear but for smart nights out, or even a smart day out, then something a bit more exciting is required; Trasparenze can usually be relied upon to provide that something special.
Trasparenze Irus adds a very light trellis pattern to the basic sheer with rectangular “dots” at the intersection points. The pattern runs from the sandal toe, around the shaped heel all the way to a very delicate lace pattern transition below the plain welt. Calling the welt plain doesn’t quite do it justice as it has a very pretty lace edge to the top and reminds us of the waistbands on top quality tights from the likes of Gerbe and Falke.
There are just two sizes 1/2 and 3/4 however there is plenty of stretch to ensure a close fit if you are at the smaller end of a size and correct positioning of the welt if you have longer legs. As a guide if you have average to athletic legs the welt of the 3/4 size will reach the top of a 30” leg. The single wide silicone band grips the leg well and holds the welt in place perfectly.
The trellis part of the pattern just looks like a pale herringbone once on the leg and is invisible beyond a couple of paces away leaving you with just a spotty pattern.
Well made, well fitting stockings with an interesting if not quite exciting design.
