Our Review
These stockings got pushed up our review queue as we needed some stretch stockings to test out with our Cleopatra 6 Strap Panty Girdle as it has non adjusting suspender straps so was a little limited with non-stretch stockings. Trasparenze make Jessy Stockings in just two sizes (small-medium for heights 4'11" - 5'5" and tall-extra tall for heights 5'6" - 5'11") so we hope there is enough stretch. As well as a choice of two sizes there are 4 colours: black with a red seam and welt, ivory with red details, cosmetic with red details and cosmetic with black details.
These slightly shiny stockings put us in mind of the quality 15 denier tights made by Trasparenze and others that dominate the middle market, great quality at a sensible price. But these are not just a copy of tights knitted shorter, there is very a lightly reinforced toe and a proper knitted in matt finish heel. The welt and sub-welt are matt too with the transition cleverly hidden in the pattern of contrasting lines (cometic and red in the case of our test pair). The seam is well defined, as close to a real seam as you can get.
Trasparenze have never let us down in terms of length and stretch and they have not let us down now. The larger of the two sizes easily reached the top of a 35” leg and the welt took suspender clasps perfectly. The design of the welt really came into its own when the stripes were curved by the tension of the suspenders, excellent!
Fitting the heel greatly improves fit and comfort, and yes the stretch will allow the heel to sit correctly even on a large foot, and it ensures the bottom of the seam is correctly placed. The seam ran perfectly straight and stayed in place under the tension of a good suspender. Our only criticism of the seam is that it is a little wider than a “real seam”.
Perfect even colour on the legs and enough density to hide minor skin imperfection while still looking sheer. The seam adds a slimming effect and in the case of our cosmetic sample increased the impression of sheerness.
Stockings that make a bold but simple statement... red seams to release your inner scarlet woman.
