Our Review The picture of these tights on the packet intrigued us, just where is there bare skin and where is there sheer material? What we found was way beyond our expectations. Yes the “nude” area below the top garter is in fact sheer material with the suspender strap design knitted in to it, but this was not what caught our attention. Where the suspender meets the stocking top (the mock stocking top not the real one... this could get confusing) Trasparenze have sewn on a little bow, a piece of red ribbon and a strip of lace to cover the ribbon, just like the end of a real suspender strap. Only on the outside of each leg though so they so not catch. Genius! Aside from the sheer transition between the mock stocking top and the elastic strip that is the real top of the hold up these are heavy 80 denier hold ups. The leg is lightly shaped at the heel and features a triangular panel with floral details at the back of the leg. The garter top has a single wide silicone band to grip the leg. These are without doubt very cleverly designed stockings from a fashion perspective but we do have a couple of concerns. Firstly there are only two sizes and the length is not very generous, the larger size should fit up to a height of 6’0” (183 cm) but if you are this tall and leggy the top of the hold up will be not far above mid thigh with the mock top below mid thigh. These are stocking tops designed to be seen but you will need to plan your outfit carefully. Our second concern is that although these stocking are beautifully made with quality materials having a sheer band between the hold up top and the 80 denier leg, particularly of stockings that are a little short, may be a recipe for a ladder and tears. What we did find was that the wide silicone band held very well and we never felt that it would let us down. Of course these are purely practical concerns, and they really only matter if you are particularly tall. The matt finish on the legs is perfectly even and the mock suspender design is so pretty ... so sexy... that these are a must have for anyone who likes to show off their legs. 7 February 2011 |
