Our Review With all the fancy designs and exotic sounding style names it is quite refreshing to find a pair of plan stockings that are simply named Stockings 15, albeit names in Italian... which is reasonable as this Polish brand makes these stockings in Italy. There are 3 sizes to choose from based on foot length, leg length and thigh circumference. Other brands take note, stockings specific sizing and not a mention of hip measurement. In terms of design and detailing it is not possible to minimise any more than Veneziana have done here. A straight tube closed with a reinforced toe at one and and a plain welt at the other Our test pair came in the largest of the three sizes, they don’t look overly long but these are stretch stockings and the maximum 82cm (32.5”) leg length was easily accommodated. If your leg is longer don’t worry, just lengthen your suspender straps, 82cm is length from floor to top of welt. If you are stretching stockings you need to be sure of your suspenders, for our review we used one of the many styles from StockingsHQ, their 6 strap V-clip belt that has two clips on the end of each strap. We didn’t need the insurance of the double clips, plain stockings like this take a clip perfectly so long as they are good quality clips. The Lycra in the yarn makes for a perfect fit, perhaps a little too tights like for purists but ideal for everyday wear. Colour is perfectly even throughout, the finish is intended to be matt but in strong light the Lycra adds a shine. Great for those of us who like the more eye-catching finish. Great value at £5.25, don’t forget buy at least 2 pairs in each colour you select so you can still pair up after accidents. 19 December 2011 |
